Chidiya Ghar, Delhi:Chidiya Ghar: The Delhi Zoo is located near ITO. It is spread over a vast expanse of 240 acres. The zoo was founded in the year 1957. It is funded by the national Government. The zoo is home to some 1,700 creatures and 185 species in all.

Birla Mandir:Birla Mandir: Built in 1938, famous Birla Mandir in Delhi was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on the express condition that people of all castes and especially untouchables would be allowed in. Consequently a plaque at the gate reiterates that people of all faiths and classes are welcome.

Gurdwara Bangla Sahib : Gurdwara Bangla Sahib : The biggest Gurudwara in Delhi was at one time the bungalow of Raja Jai Singh Amber of Jaipur. In 1664, the eighth Sikh Guru Harkishan Dev resided here during his visit to Delhi. The Samovar situated in the compound is believed to be blessed by the guru and hence, it is held sacred by the sikhs.

Jama Masjid:Jama Masjid : of Delhi, is the principal mosque of Old Delhi in India. Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal, and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques in India.

Kaljaji Mandir:Kalkaji Mandir : This is a very old temple and the oldest part was built up in 1764 A.D. The Kali Temple in Kalkaji boasts of an existence of 3,000 years, although the oldest surviving portion of it dates to 1764-1771 when the Marathas were in power.

Purana Qila: Pandavas had built their capital, Indraprastha at the place where the old fort stands today. This fort, now in ruins, was the seat for administration for many emperors. The legendary Prithviraj Chauhan ruled from here till he was defeated by Abdali in the battle of Panipat.

India Gate:India Gate : India Gate is constructed as a memorial and was built in the memory of 90,00 soldiers who laid down their lives during world war I. Located at Rajpath, India Gate is 42 m high and is popular relaxation area during the summer evenings. India Gate also act as popular pinic spot during winter.

Lotus Temple:Lotus Temple : The Lotus Temple that is located in South Delhi is also known as ‘Bahai House of Worship’. This 20th century wonder made of marble, dolomite, cement and sand is dedicated in December 1986. This temple represents the Baha’i faith - founded by Baha’ullah, an independent world religion.

Lal Qila:Lal Qila : The Red Fort, set amidst the bustling heart of Old Delhi, with its obligatory share of dust and memories, bears the stamp of a place that has seen much grandeur and knows it. After Mughal Emperor Shahjahan shifted his capital to the royal quarters of Delhi.

Qutub Minar:Qutub Minar : The Qutub Minar is 72 meters high (237.8 ft) with 379 steps leading to the top. The diameter of the base is 14.3 meters wide while the top floor measures 2.75 meters in diameter. Surrounding the building are many fine examples of Indian artwork from the time it was built in 1193.

Jantar Mantar:Jantar Mantar : The Jantar Mantar at New Delhi, India. The red wash on the masonry structures stands in contrast to the lush green of its park-like setting in the midst of downtown New Delhi. The site’s open space and protected boundaries also offer the city’s residents a quiet place for respite and contemplation.

Roshanara Bagh:Roshanara Bagh : This garden is counted among the best Mughal gardens in India although it has lost much of its past grandeur. This is said that princess Roshanara, daughter of emperor Shah Jahan, laid this garden in the year 1650. Roshanara had enough money at her disposal to commission a garden like that.
